Just imagine that you are are having a footballing conversation with a Barcelona fan and things suddenly got ugly when the debate of Messi vs Ronaldo transformed into a heated conversation and it got uglier when you uttered, Inter is planning to bring Messi in the Italian Serie A well, you both end up fighting!
The above scenario is nothing imaginative, but such things always happen whenever one says, Messi would leave Camp Nou and either a Manchester City or Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain are planning to offer Barcelona. Since the legend of Messi emerged, the rumors of his leave from Camp Nou always gain momentum every season.
But in the end, Messi continues to play in Camp Nou and even more seriously than his own country.
Messi playing for some other club is unthinkable.
In his season’s summer transfer, that rumour has gained the momentum yet again.
Inter Milan are reportedly building up to an attempt at pulling off the most audacious deal in the history of football.
The Italian giants are keeping eagle eyes on the unfolding situation with living legend Lionel Messi at Barcelona, who appears to be growing increasingly discontent by the week.
Messi, 33, has not signed a new deal at Barca and is able to walk away for free next summer, and Inter are ready to come in with an astonishingly lucrative deal, as report Italian outlet La Gazetta Dello Sport.
It is claimed Inter will put forward an incredible offer to Messi, with a collective salary of £235million over a four-year contract.
It would see the mercurial playmaker pocket earn just short of £60m per year, and would continue his playing days in European football through to the age of 38.
Once upon a time, it was the dream of former Inter president Massimo Moratti to one day bring Lionel Messi to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, however, the fiscal climate of football changed and that was never possible, yet years after the Italian left the club, their current owners, the Suning Group, share the very same dream.
This season Messi's demeanour has sent waves of concern through the Barca camp, with many now fearing he will call time on the club he has spent the entirety of his senior career with.
Following Barca's penultimate game of the La Liga season, in which they were embarrassingly beaten 2-1 by Osasuna, an emotional Messi let rip in his post-match comments.
Messi spoke about other sides bettering Barcelona for intensity. He siad, “This result summed up what we have been all season. A very inconsistent team.”
His frustrations are numerous, from the club not replacing Xavi Hernandez properly to the departure of Neymar which sent Los Cules into a tailspin from which they haven't yet recovered.
Such sort of issues and statements are giving Suning the slightest of hope!
Even though, the Inter chief Giuseppe Marotta emphatically played down the chances of the club sensationally signing Messi and termed it as a fantasy.
Marotta was forced to address the topic after a large silhouette image of Messi was beamed onto Milan's famous Duomo cathedral, causing mass hysteria.
According to Italian media, Inter's majority owners used the image to publicize the televising of the club's game against Napoli on Tuesday evening in China.
And Marotta insisted that he cannot see how Inter can make any deal happen for the six-time Ballon d'Or winner at this moment in time.
Marotta told Sky Sport Italia, “Messi on the cathedral? It wasn't my idea. It reminds me of football from the past with such situations. We are talking about an icon, a great player, a desire that everyone has”.
Marotta went onto stress that it would be, “extraordinary to see such a champion at Inter”, before adding, “It's fantasy football, a utopian situation.”
But……the plan to brig Messi in Inter is under work.
As Marca stated, “Reports linking Messi away from the Camp Nou in previous years have always been simple to deny, simply because of the economic cost it would take. The year 2020, though, is unusual as we previously mentioned with Financial Fair Play regulations having been suspended to help ease the burden on European clubs”.
“In theory, this is a sensible measure, yet it doesn't take into account the small number of clubs who are owned by incredibly wealthy companies like Suning, or even states themselves, as is the case with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain”.
“These teams are essentially being given a free pass to
spend the money they have without recourse, at least for this summer transfer
window, and with Messi not having looked willing to sign a contract renewal
with the Blaugrana, an Inter move shouldn't be dismissed out of hand”.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, financially, Suning is very strong!
The scale of Suning's wealth can be seen by their fiscal records from 2019 with the organization earning 77.24 billion dollars and employing 280,000 people.
Jiangsu Suning and Inter are the company's biggest jewels from a sporting perspective, although Zhang Jindong's PP Sports holds the broadcasting rights in China for the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and LaLiga Santander.
Zhang's son, Steven, has been entrusted with the day-to-day running of Inter and it is believed his main goal is to unseat Juventus as the dominant force in Italian football.
Antonio Conte was brought in to close the gap from a tactical perspective and he was backed in the transfer market, although the Nerazzurri had to work within FFP restrictions.
According to the club's last income statement, the 2018/19 season saw them bring in 417 million euros which was a club record.
Suning also plans to inject 1.2 billion euros into the club to fund a stadium move, with the new San Siro plans being drawn up at the present moment.
This plan would be reinforced with what AC Milan and other private entities would contribute, with the Rossoneri set to share the new ground.
Jiangsu Suning almost made a splash in the transfer market in 2019 by signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid but were forced to settle for the much more modest purchase of Mubarak Wakaso for four million euros.
When PP Sports mentioned the name of Messi over the last seven days, they weren't merely doing it to advertise a football match, but it was a plan, which might be in its infancy right now and unthinkable, but keeping in mind the sort of financial crisis Barcelona are facing, who knows, one might witness Messi leaving Camp Nou to the astonishment of the experts and fans.
