The name of the Brazilian gem is Kayky

While you are thinking that Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Kaio Jorge, Yan Couto, Reinier Jesus, Emerson Royal, Gabriel Menino, Matheus Cunha, Luis Henrique, Gerson, Lincoln, Allan, Thiago Maia, Marcos Leonardo Lucas Paqueta, Renan Lodi, Metinho and Talles Magno are the next generation to carry on the legacy of Yellow shirt then hold your breath because just a few hours ago Manchester City have confirmed the signing of yet another talent from Brazil, who is set to work under Pep Guardiola from June 2022.

The name of the boy is Kayky da Silva Chagas. The 17-year old boy has already started playing for the Brazilian Football Club Fluminense and Manchester City scouts and Pep did not delay signing this kid – obviously, the sooner the better option is the order of the day when the matter is about the Brazilian talents because Florentino Perez and Real Madrid are also there to snatch them.

Kayky grew up in Rio de Janerio.

At the age of eight, he failed in an attempt to join the Fluminense futsal team in a setback that could have ended his dreams of one day reaching the highest level there and then.

But supported by his father, Demir – to whom Kayky now dedicates all his goals with his 'moustache' celebration – he instead joined the team at the famous Mangueira samba school, an institution that is traditionally better known for being a regular winner at the Rio Carnival than sporting prowess.

It was there, though, that Fluminense's scouts came across him once more and, after watching him star in a match that actually resulted in defeat for Mangueira, he was enrolled in the club's academy system.

He got his breakthrough futsal, the small-sided, indoor game popular in South American cities.

After playing for a local amateur club, he was taken in at Fluminense to play for their futsal team, before progressing to 11-a-side.

Kayky finished as the top scorer in last year's Brasileirao Under-17 Championship with 12 goals, as Fluminense took the title.

In addition to winning the Under-17 Brazilian championship last year, Kayky’s side finished as runners up in the Under-17 Copa do Brasil.

Despite having not yet made a first-team appearance, those performances were enough to convince a host of top European sides, including Liverpool, Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk, of his potential.

In the end, City won the race.

As well as representing Brazil at the Under-16 level, Kayky has featured for Fluminense's famous youth teams, following in the footsteps of players like Marcelo and Fabinho.

Despite the club previously having so many talented footballers come up through their ranks, the current crop is being heralded as the “Dream Generation,” of which Kayky is the shining light.

Kayky is a left-footed inside forward.

He is blessed with the skill and creativity and can feature anywhere in the attacking positions - great control on the ball, mobility, acceleration, fast direction shifts, short-dribbling and good short-mid through passing ability made Pep his fan.

Like any Brazilian boy, he is fond of dribbling and is regularly able to take players out of the game with his one-on-one ability. Once he has gone past his man, he is capable of playing accurate, clever passes to find teammates in goal-scoring positions – the comparison with Neymar is obvious!

“Kayky is a player who stands out a lot for his technical quality, especially with regard to one-on-ones, and also in his quality in front of goal,” Fluminense's U17 coach, Guilherme Torres, told Goal.

“He is also very intelligent, searches for empty spaces on the field and has a good ability to provide assists for his teammates.”

“In addition, he has a winning, competitive mentality, which is important for a high-level player. His resilience has grown as he has matured, and he is learning how to deal with adversity.”

A report from Brazilian outlet Globoesporte suggests that Metinho will first go to the City Group’s French second-tier outfit Troyes, but that Kayky will go straight to Manchester, so highly is he thought of by the club's scouts.

That indicates how worthy this 17-year old boy is!
