The third day of the second Test between England and West
Indies was washed out and there was a doubt that it might cost England badly,
who were 1-0 down. But in the end, it did not matter much as Ben Stokes and his
allround brilliance along with Stuart Broad’s expertise with the new cherry
undermined any sort of fightback from the Caribbean.
Shamarh Brooks and Jermaine Blackwood showed promise, but
they failed to prolong their stay as the English bowlers scripted breakthroughs
whenever it was required on the final day.
It was a Test match, where, yet again, the brilliance of
Stokes was on show – bat slow. Bat fast. Script crucial breakthroughs.Bowl at a
deceptive. Exhibit charisma with the bat and ball – Stokes is certainly the
Imran and Botham of modern-day cricket.
