Kylian Mbappe joining Real Madrid would be like a dream come true

While Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is busy branding Lionel Messi and sell the brand as much as possible, one of their own stars may just leave the club sooner or later. Even if we use the term later, it might not sound justified because the rumour of Kylian Mbappe leaving PSG for Real Madrid seems to be a matter of time.

World Cup winner Mbappe has refused to sign a new contract at PSG, with his current deal set to expire next summer, and now the Emir of Qatar has got involved in proceedings.

As RMC Sport reported on Monday evening, PSG are now considering the possibility of selling Mbappe before the close of the transfer window.

Curiously, if Mbappe was to make the move to Real Madrid, it could have an impact on his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, who would suddenly become an option for PSG as they look to replace their young star.

Real Madrid have remained adamant that they are only thinking about signing Mbappe, despite having the option to go down the route of discussing a deal with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland or even a move that would see Cristiano return to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe may be into the last 12 months of his contract, but Real Madrid understand that prying him away from PSG will lead to the 22-year-old being the club's record signing, while he would also become the club's highest-earning player.

Back in May, Real Madrid began to draw up their plans about what they want the new side to look like, with there being an understanding that after bringing in a new head coach and finding a replacement for the captain, Sergio Ramos, the only other name that would be considered is that of Mbappe.

There was a lot of talk about Real Madrid needing a huge overhaul of the squad, but that will come ahead of the 2022-23 season as many of the players' contracts are still in place.

MARCA reports, “Real Madrid's dream of making Mbappe their star player for the next five years could become a reality, as both PSG and the club's Qatari owners recognize that there is a player with an expiring contract who wants to leave in order to join Los Blancos.”

“Mbappe has not bowed to the pressure, with the forward having received lucrative offers, promises and so on, but he only had it in his mind that he wants to be a Real Madrid player. The finishing line is finally within sight.”

“For me as a fan, it's a failure if Mbappe doesn't join [Real Madrid],” Roberto Gomez said on Radio MARCA.

“It would be a huge failure for Florentino Perez. Real Madrid are an economic superpower and they have never had a problem with money.”

“Florentino's negotiating skills have never been matched by anyone else. I don't understand why Florentino Perez is not in Paris negotiating the arrival of Mbappe.”

MARCA reports, “Paris Saint-Germain look to have accepted defeat in their battle to keep Kylian Mbappe at the club, with the forward refusing to accept multiple offers to renew his contract.”

“As such, the Ligue 1 side are getting prepared for the potential sale of the player according to RMC in France, something which, until now, had not been uttered in the French media.”

“As a result, PSG are considering replacements for Mbappe, with Everton's Brazilian international Richarlison high on the list, following the direct recommendation from Neymar.”

Roberto Perez may sound a bit impatient, but the boss of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez is calm and composed as he is observing matter closely. PSG have not yet received an offer from Real Madrid, yet a bid from a Premier League club has come in.

However, Real Madrid's long-term interest and Perez's strategy behind the transfer have them in pole position. Mbappe is determined to win football's biggest prizes and is the main thinking behind a possible move.

A move to Santiago Bernabeu would be like a dream come true for Mbappe because he dreamed of playing the club where his idol Cristiano once ruled the roost and he would be part of an elite group who don the white shirt only to win titles.
