Carnage at Old Trafford

5 minutes: It was hideous defending from Manchester United, whose clumsy pressing meant that they ended up with just Luke Shaw against three Liverpool players. Mohamed Salah had Robertson to his left and Keita to his right. He chose to play in Keita, who slid the ball calmly past de Gea.

13 minutes: Harry Maguire and Shaw faffed on the edge of the D-box, allowing Keita to pinch the ball and play in Trent Alexander-Arnold to the right. He slid an immaculate low cross to the far post, where Diogo Jota stretched to steer the ball into the empty net.

38 minutes: Mohamed Salah scored for the tenth consecutive game! His snapshot from the edge of the area was blocked by Maguire but the ball broke perfectly for Keita on the right side of the area. He looked up and fizzed a low cross back towards Salah, who side-footed it past de Gea from six yards.

45 minutes: Horrible defending from Manchester United! Liverpool move the ball far too easily from left to right, with Jota finding the unmarked Salah in the area. He dragged a precise first-time shot past de Gea at the near post. That was an excellent finish because the ball was bobbling slightly.

50 minutes: Henderson won the ball in the centre circle and curls a devastating pass around Maguire with the outside of the foot. Salah scot onto it drew de Gea and flipped the ball over him. It was a lovely finish, but the pass was just glorious.

Two minutes later it was thought that Cristiano Ronaldo reduced the deficit, but the gola was ruled out after the VAR check.

A few minutes later Paul Pogba was sent off!

October 24, 2021, offered plenty of footballing actions across Europe and the El Clasico and Liverpool vs Manchester United garnered enough attention than ever.

While Real Madrid ensured that they are still the King at Camp Nou, at Old Trafford, Liverpool showed who they are – the Red Machine transformed into a Red Tank that annihilated the Red Devils and buried them on the pitch in a commanding manner.

It was a breathtaking display from Liverpool and the above-mentioned goals indicate how they toyed with the Liverpool backline – Manchester United were out of ideas and focus and were reduced to school kids by a unit who are well-drilled to erase the painful memories of last season and regain their lost place as the best club in Europe and the World.

Today’s ruthless display at Old Trafford is similar to Bayern Munich who gives the opposition no respite and continues to humiliate them even after victory is ensured.

In the most anticipated match f the weekend Premier League – Liverpool not only humiliated their arch-rivals but also made life tougher for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose regime might come to an end sooner or later.
