England v Australia, 4th Test, Day 3 - England have regained the Ashes

It has been just a mere formality for England on day 3. It took 10.2 overs for England to notch up a thumping win. Nathan Lyon dragged the ball into his middle and leg stump off a Mark Wood delivery and the Trent Bridge crowd went delirious. There were no slightest of hints of an Australian fight back. They didn’t even bother to do such. England have registered their 100th victory by an innings in Test cricket.

How painful it was for Cook and co to rebuild this English team. It was a tough one and patience has its rewards. Isn’t it? I am happy for Alastair Cook as because, after the last Ashes debacle in Australia, Cook was in the soup and Kevin Pietersen simply made his life even tougher. But he denied to bog down, but decided to move on.  Well done mate!

Michael Clarke’s decision to retire has surprised me. It seems a premature one for me. I think, still, he has a lot to offer for Australia.

Thank You
