Just at the stroke of lunch Steve Smith played this shot - opened up like Sir Vivian Richards and Gordon Greenidge with the feet resembling like an ataxic gait - back leg pivoted on the offstump with front leg pointing straight downwards, but still no problem in performing the job as the authority on the back foot made the job a lot easier.
The bat went up straight. Came down straight. But in the middle of those few milliseconds, he would be able to let the ball meet the middle portion of the bat. The result was inevitable - the ball caressed through the extra-cover boundary for four.
Michael Atherton was quick to use the term - West Indian flair. Those of us who had witnessed the best of West Indian cricket, would certainly know what is it all about.
For me, this was the best shot of Day 4 and best shot of Smith's second innings heroics.
Thank You
