Gabriel Jesus, a Brazilian footballer who plays for
Palmeiras as a forward. He was voted the best newcomer of the 2015 Campeonato
Brasileiro Série A, a year in which he also helped his team win the Copa do
Brasil.
At international level, he was part of the Brazilian team
that came runners-up in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup held in New Zealand.
This kid has already created a lot of buzz around the globe.
European giants are highly eager to shell out millions of euros for this kid
and at the moment it seems, he is all set to overshadow the aura of Neymar.
I came to know about him during the U-20 World Cup last year
where his typical samba style of play caught mine and Tanoy Dutta attention. We
were overjoyed to know about the presence of such a talent in Brazil and credit
must be given to Rogerio Micale for his development and thankfully, Carlos
Dunga will not be managing the Olympic team. To bring out the best from the
likes of Gabigol, Jesus and co , Micale’s presence was much needed.
Jesus plays as a forward and winger and his direct dribbling
and frightening acceleration off the mark certainly bring to mind the young
Ronaldo and Fenomeno was quick to admit that he watches his shadow in Jesus.
One of Jesus’ biggest asset is his terrific eye for the pass that makes him as
dangerous 25 yards from goal as it does in the box. Gabriel is equally at home
playing in the middle of an attack or on the left of an offensive trident.
Imagine Neymar and Gabriel in partnership along with Gabigol
upfront – simply a devastating combination which I am waiting to see in the Rio
Olympics.
The world needs to know more about this guy and for which,
Jesus needs to fly to Europe, where he will develop into a world beater. I
would also like to see Gabigol, Ganso and other emerging youngsters of Brazil
to play in European clubs.
Talents are oozing in Brazil and thanks to Almighty , Tite
and Micale are there to nurture them.
