Pakistan v West Indies, 1st ODI, Sharjah - Impressive Babar Azam

Azhar Ali was dismissed in the first ball of the match, but a 21-year old boy stabilized the situation for Pakistan. The world came to know about this boy in 2010 during the Under-19 World Cup at New Zealand. He was the star of the tournament and highest run getter.

Since then, he was expected to feature in the national team and I think, the Pakistan hierarchy showed some sense by not including him in a hurry and let the boy to mature a bit more. He made his ODI debut last year and within a year, the boy is justifying his talent and the faith invested in him.

Even at the age of 21, his temperament is good and his technique will improve. The boy plays with a straight bat and that’s a good sign. His temperament is his key to prosperity and let him feature in the Test team as well.

No comments about the West Indies team. If they take limited-overs cricket seriously, at least a fight was expected.

Thank You
