A picture in Mundo Deportivo showed a fan wearing ‘Coutinho
11’ Barca shirt during Real Betis win. Philippe Countinho has already made a
strong fan base at Camp Nou. But after Liverpool's rejection of a number of
bids Barcelona have now issued the Reds a deadline of 7pm on Sunday afternoon
to accept their latest offer, according to Guillem Balague.
"We reported on Friday that Liverpool had rejected the
third offer from Barcelona and an email was sent back [to Liverpool] from
Barcelona saying, 'okay, you rejected that - if you don't accept it I must tell
you that there is a deadline of today, Sunday - 7pm. Otherwise we withdraw the
offer'," said Balague.
"I think Liverpool have got no intention of answering
that email from Barcelona, which in theory means that's the end of that.
"That's the end of the story of Coutinho moving to
Barcelona. You never know in football of course but if Barcelona are true to
their word they will withdraw the offer tonight because Liverpool have got no
intention of selling."
But in this year's crazy transfer window, one never know
what may happen.
From my point of view, Liverpool must respect the wish of a
player and let him move forward wherever he wants to play. Coutinho is a
Brazilian and I know how independent minded the Brazilians are! If you act like
a school teacher with them, you can never expect any better outcomes from them.
Coutinho's heart and soul is in Barcelona and he deserves to
feature in one of the best clubs in the world and improve more. Playing at
Liverpool will not guarantee him any trophies, but Real and Barca would. Every
Brazilian dreams of either playing at Real Madrid or Barcelona and Coutinho is
no different. If a player wants to fulfill his dreams, what's wrong with it?
Coutinho has not joined Liverpool for whole life?
If Liverpool helped Coutinho to develop, one must not
forget, the Brazilian gave the best to drag the club out of the rut and
establish themselves as a competitive unit which they weren't for a brief
period.
Liverpool's pragmatically absurd attitude neither will help
Coutinho nor Liverpool as from the midfield, they would need Coutinho to fire
in upcoming matches and if he remains dissatisfied, the loss would be
Liverpool's.
Let the man go to Cam Nou and play according to his own
wish.
Thank You
