I wrote this article about Mushfiqur Rahim’s emotional state
of mind in 2013. Obviously, my article was not welcomed by many back then. But
perhaps, during that time, I was the only person who always kept on saying,
Mushfiq might be a very good batsman but as a captain he is not appropriate and
lacks the personality to express his opinion. After four years, he sounded
emotional in front of media and said sorry to fans. It was unnecessary and seemed
like a ploy to win sympathy from the fans. But over the years, a section of Bangladesh
cricket fans have matured enough to differentiate between emotions and reality.
These Bangladesh fans don’t buy such cheap emotions at present Mushi. Either
act like an aggressive and mature captain or please step down and play as a
batsman.
