Sri Lanka v West Indies, 2nd Test, Day 2 - Sri Lanka take a lead

The track of P Sara Oval was never going to be easy for the batters and as expected, Dhamika Prasad and Nuwan Pradeep tested the Caribbean top order and set jitters with immediate effect. Prasad’s length got better in the course of time while Pradeep utilized the variable bounce quite well to leave the West Indies batting line-up in tatters.

Other than Kraig Brathwaite’s 47, there were no worthy contributions from the Caribbean batsmen as they were skittled out for 163 runs. And since 2006, Sri Lanka managed to take a lead after making 200 or fewer runs the first innings.

But, Milinda Siriwardana was the bowler who impressed me. He can turn the ball and deliver the wicket-taking balls quite effectively. The guy has the potential to be one of the best performers in the days to come. He bats well, bowls well and as a fielder, he is good as well. I love his confidence on the field. Looks a captaincy material to me.

Thank You
