Runs, runs and more runs were scored in Abu Dhabi. The
English bowlers toiled hard in the heat of UAE and discovered that bowling in the Gulf is tougher than challenges
of playing in an Ashes series. Shoaib Malik and Asad Shafiq pressed hard and
went on to script a 197-run partnership for the fifth wicket – a Pakistani
record against England for the fifth wicket.
Malik was in an audacious mood. He pummeled Adil Rashid
while exhibited a composure against the pacers to mark his five-year-exile from
Test cricket with a doubleton. At the other end, his batting partner, Asad
Shafiq notched-up a hundred as well and as soon as their partnership was broken,
the English bowlers could fetch a few more scalps.
England’s reply was good. Except Wahab Riaz, none of the Pakistani bowlers showed the right intent. Moeen Ali and Alastair Cook looked watchful and determined to utilize the placid track. It might be the turn for the Pakistani bowlers to feel the heat of Abu Dhabi on day 3.
Thank You
