Last night, Italy
applied an experimental 3-4-3 system and it worked well for them. Their
midfield looked commanding enough as they created enough chances for the
players up front. Spain were not impressive at all and felt the absence of
Sergio Busquets in the midfield heavily.
But being an Italian fan, I enjoyed Italy’s smoothness in passing
and the versatility of players up front. It’s changing times in Italian
football. They play with a three-man defence these days and only time will tell
how this ploy works. I feel, the Azzurri defenders need to work more while
tackling the set-pieces. The friendly encounter ended in a 1-1 draw, though I
think, Aritz Adruiz was offside.
