West Indies v India, 3rd Test, Gros Islet, Day 2 - Well played Wriddhiman Saha

Had  Wriddhiman Saha not been there, the Indian batting line up would have collapsed a long time ago. I have come to know, his selection in the team was not appreciated by many and I was surprised. Not only is he a competent wicketkeeper, but technically he is a very sound batsman as well. I am not sure, why everyone search for an Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni?

The Saha kind of players are the stabilizing force in the team and their presence in the batting line-up gives enough balance within the team. I repeat, if you can’t cherish blocking, leaving away the balls and hard-fought knocks, then please, I request, don’t watch Test cricket.

As soon as Saha was dismissed, the last five wickets for India fell for just 14 runs. I hope, now you can realize Saha’s importance. The reply of the West Indian batsmen was solid. At stumps they were 107 for 1 and how wonderfully the approach of the Caribbean side has changed after the epic fight back at Antigua. They need to carry on further as because, this track requires application more than the rush of blood. Darren Bravo and Kraigg Brathwaite need to stitch a big partnership.

Thank You
