There was no drama, no woos-and-aaas and no heart-racing
moments in the final day. Pakistan were in no mood to drain their energy by
putting pressure on the nerves. The Pakistani spinners rose to the occasion and
finished the Test match within one-and-half session.
Yasir Shah and Zulfiqar Babar started to attack the English
batsmen from the word go and as soon as Yasir trapped Joe Root
lbw, panic set in
the English batting line-up and in the twinkle of an eye, England lost their
middle-order. The track was still not threatening, but England ended up the
ghost in the most shambolic manner. Pakistan won the Test match and at the
moment, they are the number two Test team in the world – a much needed one to
inspire the young generation who takes a joke like Twenty20 seriously.
