Australia v New Zealand, 1st Test, Day 4 - Damp weather frustrates Australia

The Brisbane weather might be the only factor which can save New Zealand from a defeat. Otherwise, the Australians are all set to take a 1-0 lead in the series in a commanding fashion. Brisbane has been damp today and it simply delayed Australia’s progression towards a crushing victory.

Kane Williamson was among the runs again while Joe Burns’ sloppy fielding at short-leg prolonged Martin Guptill’s stay at the crease, but for a single moment, it was never felt that the New Zealand batsmen were capable of putting up a bold resistance to frustrate the Aussies.

Ross Taylor and Brendon McCullum are still there and both of them have an uphill task ahead of them on the final day. Something special from these two experienced campaigner will be beneficial for Test cricket.
