What happened during the 88th minute was an absolute shame
for Euro 2016. The trend of crowd misbehavior continued as the Croatia fans behind
the Czech Republic goal threw immense amount of flares onto the pitch
which was unnecessary and disturbed the concentration of their team. The Czech
team was awarded a penalty and kept themselves alive in this tournament.
Before this match, Croatia have won five of their last eight
group games in the European Championships (D2, L1), while the Czech Republic
have lost six of their last nine Euro games (W3). Croatia were so dominant and
were expected to grab full points, but their end was not a rosy one. I blame the
Croatia fans for disturbing their team’s wonderful rhythm.
