The way BCB’s so called celebrated officials behaved with
Heath Streak, I think it will be tough for Bangladesh to recruit a high profile
coach. The problem is, our so called celebrity BCB Officials, experts and
reporters (some respected people are excluded in this list) are suffering from
superiority complex and thus, they are not even aware of our poor status
outside Bangladesh. Selling cheap jingoism and hatred for the last couple of
years have dented our image a lot and at the moment, the high profile bowling coaches
are rejecting our offers.
Why are they rejecting our offers? The reason is simple,
they know very well that they won’t be given the respect and independence to
work and there will be unnecessary interference from the so called celebrated
reporters (not everyone is included here) who have started to know about cricket after
taking journalism as their profession. Moreover, it will be quite funny to expect an
Indian or Pakistani to accept BCB’s offer as the bowling coach. Over the last
one year, our reporters and ugly fan boys (everyone is not included in this
list) have conveyed a very poor message to the world about our disliking regarding
India and Pakistan. How can we expect their support? You have to respect others
to receive the same.
There is always pressure from the media all over the world,
but in Bangladesh the pressure is not constructive, but quite destructive and
full of stupidity. For a few dumb-headed
folks, who have become celebrities, courtesy of the social media’s
like-and-share business, an immature and unnecessary practice of hatred, superiority
complex and supreme practice of cheap jingoism dominate the sports fraternity
in Bangladesh. These people lack the knowledge of sports and earn their
livelihood only by selling emotions and hatred which can’t help us to prosper, but tarnish
the image of the country and passionate fans who really love the game a lot and
dislike mixing politics with cricket.
Venkatesh Prasad didn’t even know that he was among the probables as the bowling coach of Bangladesh. The names of Aaqib Javed floated in the air and today he directly rejected the offer and at the moment couple of heavyweight names are floating in the air. Mind you, those names have better offers than BCB and I don’t think Akram Khan and his colleagues are even aware of their own tongue or brains let alone the state of world cricket.
Thank You
